The full dome mirrors we have on offer are made with a rigid acrylic lens. This design ensures that the lens is sturdy and durable, capable of withstanding substantial impacts without cracking or shattering. This makes them perfect for high-traffic areas where they may be subject to knocks and bumps.

Our full dome mirrors come in a range of sizes, starting from 18 inches and going up to 60 inches. This means you can choose the size that fits best with your space. Whether you need a smaller mirror for a tight corner or a larger one for a spacious room, we have options to suit your needs.

In addition to different sizes, our full dome mirrors come with four different backing types. This allows you to choose the backing that best suits your requirements and preferences. The first option is no backing, which gives the mirror a sleek, minimalist look. The second option is hardboard backing, which provides a sturdy and durable surface for the mirror. The third option is heavy-duty plastic backing, which is lightweight, extremely rugged, and easy to install. The fourth option is galvanized steel backing, which offers durability and strength.

However, despite the durability and versatility of our acrylic full dome mirrors, we do not recommend using them outside. This is due to a couple of reasons. Firstly, mounting the mirrors outside can lead to issues with the installation, as the surfaces may not be suitable for the mirror mounts. Secondly, the mirrors can be damaged by weather hazards such as rain, wind, and extreme temperatures. Therefore, for the longevity and best performance of the mirrors, it is advisable to use them indoors.

No Backing – This is the most recommended backing type due to its lighter weight and lower cost, especially indoors and not in a parking garage. If you are concerned with dust or debris getting into the dome, fill it with newspaper or place a piece of cardboard over it.

Hardboard Backing, Plastic Backing, and Galvanized Steel Backing

As mentioned above, having a backing type with a dome mirror is not mandatory; however, different backing choices are offered. For example, you may be in a hospital or the food industry where cleanliness is much more important than in another area.

How Full Dome Mirrors Are Mounted

However, we offer these mirrors different mounting options based on specific user needs.

We have an article you can consult to learn more about different dome mirror mounting options. Full dome mirrors may be mounted directly to the ceiling or wall or hung with the included pendulum chains if you want to suspend them from the ceiling. Dome mirrors without backings have holes around the flange, while mirrors with backings have a D-ring around the edge used for mounting.

Dome mirrors come in various mounting options, and knowing the different methods can be beneficial if you plan to install one. You can find detailed information on these options in our article. This guide is designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of how you can mount dome mirrors.

One common type of mirror is the full dome mirror. These can be mounted directly to a ceiling or wall. This is typically done using screws (not included) inserted into the predrilled holes around the flange of the mirror. The mirror is positioned and secured, providing a wide-angle view of the surrounding area. This mounting type suits rooms or areas where the mirror can be directly attached to a flat surface.

Full dome mirrors can also be hung with the included pendulum chains. This option allows you to suspend the mirror from the ceiling. The chains are attached to specific points on the mirror, and the other end is secured to the ceiling or added to another chain from the ceiling. This is a flexible mounting option that allows you to adjust the height and angle of the mirror.

Dome mirrors can also come without backing. These mirrors have holes around the flange, which is the outer rim of the mirror. The holes make attaching mounting hardware such as screws or brackets easy. The hardware passes through these holes and secures the mirror to the desired surface.

On the other hand, dome mirrors with backings come with a D-ring around the edge. The D-ring serves as the mounting point. It can be hooked onto a screw or bracket, then attached to the wall or ceiling. The D-ring provides a secure grip and ensures the mirror stays in place after installation.

In conclusion, various dome mirror mounting options are available, each with its own benefits and suitability. Depending on the type of mirror and your installation needs, you can choose the most suitable mounting method.
